Happy summer! We are excited for all the recent updates we’ve made at Socially Boutique (like a new shop and website look), but we’re even more excited about our new interns, Emily and Maddie! Emily and Maddie have been a great addition for the Summer. They are learning the ins and outs of social media marketing and getting some great hands-on experiences.
We thought it would be fun for our readers (that’s you!) to get to know our interns a little better. Learn more about our newest additions to the Socially Boutique team below!
Why did you want to do this internship with Socially Boutique?
EMILY: I wanted the opportunity to develop my social media skills across multiple platforms. I also felt like I
would be able to learn a lot from Kirsten because she is a recent graduate who opened her own business.
MADDIE: I wanted to learn more about how to use social media in a business sense and how it can make an
impact. I’ve always loved weddings and thought it would be really cool to be able to help talented wedding professionals grow their business. I also wanted to learn how I can make my social media profiles stand out and how to gain followers.
What are you studying in school?
EMILY: I am now a senior at the University of Florida where I am studying PR with a business concentration. I am also in a combined degree program, which allows me to earn credits toward my master’s degree while I am an
MADDIE: I just graduated from UCF with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree. My two disciplines in the major were education and communications. I’ve worked with kids for a while now so I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and focus on the communications side of my degree.
What inspires you?
EMILY: My family (specifically my mom and my oldest brother Mike), my friends and music (I’m the most productive version of myself while listening to music).
MADDIE: My family,friends, and Pintrest inspire me the most, I love their creativity.
What is your dream job/career path?
EMILY: My dream job would include working for a professional sports team. I’d love to be a part of the social
media or public relations departments for a major league team.
MADDIE: I would love to be to be in charge of social media and plan events that promote fashion designers and their clothing lines.
What’s a fun fact about you?
EMILY: I collect vinyl records and cassette tapes. I love the oldies and have an extensive music collection.
MADDIE: I’m a twin.
