How quickly, how often and how much are people engaging with your account? Instagram looks at this in their algorithm to determine if they want to make your post more visible or not. Engagement is so, so important for getting your post seen. It is also very important for YOU to be engaging with other accounts. This means engaging, commenting on and “liking” other account’s photos.
Who to engage with:
- People who are already following you
- Competitor accounts with large followings
- Large accounts that have your ideal client following them
Engaging with these types of account makes your account more visible to your ideal client. Engaging with account that are already following you helps foster relationships and encourages them to engage with your posts as well.
2. Building Connections/Relationships
Creating connections is so important for your business. People want to get to know you before they buy from you. It’s not all about the numbers and how many people you have following you. 100 super engaged and interested followers is always better than 1000 followers who could care less about what you’re posting. So how do we get them to care? We engage with them. We start a conversation and connect with them way before we ever try to sell them on our offerings.
